~New "Pineapple" Bedroom Carpet & Tea Cups~

 Happy Monday to you all.
Gary and I have lived in our current home now for 2 years and 2 months, there had been new carpet installed  by the previous owners to give the house a fresh look when we purchased the home,  but it did not last the padding went flat and the carpet wore out  you could see walk paths and when I would walk on the threshold I could feel nails poking my tender little feet! (it hurt) so Gary and  I decided it was time to upgrade the bedroom carpets.
We choose Posh Origins in Pineapple by Mohawk with a thick padding. It is so soft and comfy to walk on I love it! the color is so  pretty I think. Its like a warm butter yellow. Our bedroom walls are  painted a light soft yellow. We are surrounded by sunshine!

We debated between continuing the wood flooring we have in the great room and hallways into the bedrooms but since our home has a raised foundation and the central valley were we live is cold in the winter and hot in summer we opted for carpet in the bedrooms. I like getting out of bed and walking a soft floor.

During the summer we take off our quilt and put on the light weight chenille bedspread and leave the quilt at the foot of the bed for add color and texture.  We do not have a head board "yet" I have a design I would like for Gary to build for me. He said he would so I will wait patiently...

Pineapple carpet.....its so lush and oh so soft you can lay down on it and wave your arms up and down and make a snow angel in it, or would that be a carpet angel hehehee?
Recently the ceiling fan went out, just plain old gave out on us one very hot day in June!!! wouldn't ya know it.. anyway the very next day we ran out and purchased a new ceiling fan for the bedroom. It gets hot in the central valley were we live and a ceiling fan is a must or we would be running the air conditioner all night and boy would be have a BIG electric bill!

I have shown you the little sitting room before in the bedroom but now I have my tea cup collection in there along with the yellow wing back chair. Since we had to move everything out of all the bedrooms for the carpets to be installed I took a few shots of the teacups so I would remember how I had them set up, well I didn't down load the photos and ended up putting them back differently LOL. anyway I thought you might like to see my pretties. My sister and I would always look for special tea cups while antiquing together so my tea cups remind me of fun times spent with her.  I hope you enjoy the teacup :)

While hanging up my cloths back into the closet I noticed my rain coat matched the soft yellow wing back chair and the pineapple carpet.
I think I (we) have a thing for yellow lately. Our new kitchen appliances are yellow and
Gary and I just had our house painted, the painter finished up last week and guess what? yep we choose yellow for the base color of the body, white for the trim and a royal blue door. I will show you later in another post how the new house color looks also the other two bedrooms  new carpet. There is nothing like new soft carpet under your feet when you get up in the morning...

I hope your week is restful and your hearts are at peace.

Elizabeth, the butter yellow carpet coupled with the red accents in the room look so cheerful. I must tell you my heart skipped a beat when I noticed the quilt hanging on the wall. I read through some of your earlier posts to find out more. So fortunate you were able to rescue it and have the water damage repaired. It is indeed very special and someone put a lot of work into that piece of art.

I love a soft yello or a soft peach. Most of my walls are painted in a tea light.....which is a soft yellow. It goes with everything and is a happy color.
Your bedroom is so beautiful.

Dearest Elizabeth and Gary,

You have tackles quite a task! Looks very cozy and matches nicely together. We changed our wool/cotton bedroom carpet in 2007 when I had to use the pump spray for my asthma... Now walking on solid oak planks is not cold at all I must say. I still use cotton rugs alongside the bed and behind the bed and in front of the French door to the balcony.
Don't those things ONLY break down during summer heat? We run also fans but our air conditioning stays on day and night but with a setting on 78°F. Never high energy bills though. It cost more energy for starting back up once you turn it off and besides, the air conditioning does de-humidify the air. A feature that is very important for our health! But I guess a lot of people don't realize that dual function.
Enjoy your almost new home and have a great summer.
Love to you both,
Mariette

Hi Elizabeth,
It's wonderful to have you join me for tea today. {I fixed your link for you.}
I love your soft yellow in the bedroom. We have yellow in ours too but only on the walls. Pretty pops of red everywhere too. A very charming bedroom you have. And I like your teacup collection! I see you collect footed teacups as well as regular ones.
Thank you for sharing this with us at Tea Time and have a fabulous week.

Blessings,
Sandi

That carpet does look like it would be cozy underfoot. We don't have a headboard either. I just framed an Indian quilt and put it behind the bed as an accent. What a huge collection of tea cups you have. So very pretty! Wishing you a lovely week. Tammy

I first view this post on my iPhone but I couldn't wait to get on my laptop because I knew I would leave a long comment. I love your bedroom! Everything is just beautiful and your new carpet tops it all off. Like you we have light buttery cream walls and a light carpet in our bedroom. Ours is blue room but I love the touches of red in your bedroom. Those two gorgeous quilts you made, the red checkered bench (love, love it!), the red curtains and your dreamy wingback yellow chair. Be still my beating heart. And your teacup collection is fantastic. How many do you have? Lots more than me. You must have had such fun shopping for teacups with your dear sister. My eye was drawn to the blue and white teapot. It's a beauty. I'm looking forward to see what you do for a headboard. Wouldn't it be grand to have a quilted headboard made out of one of your quilts! Thanks for sharing your lovely bedroom with us Elizabeth. I bet Gary loves it too!

Your bedroom looks posh and glamorous, Elizabeth. It sure is colorful. How I wish I could lie down on your new pineapple carpet for a moment to feel its softness. :P Congratulations on having a new carpet, by the way. I commend your color choice. Light yellow clears one's mind, and plus, it also symbolizes freshness.

I suddenly remember my grandparents after seeing these pictures. Haha. That’s because it appears to me that your bedrooms are quite the same, from the bed position and the cabinets to the lamps and the carpet. In fact, the color of your carpet is quite similar to the one at my grandparents’ home. Oh well, I have to mention that their carpet has been there for about ten years now, and it’s still in good condition. My grandma really knows how to maintain it. I hope yours will also last a long time!

Your carpet has a good color, Elizabeth and Garry. The carpet certainly looked clean and cute. Pineapple is my favorite fruit, by the way. :) Your addiction with special tea cups reminds me of my grandaunt who likes collecting teacups.

“Pineapple carpet.....its so lush and oh so soft you can lay down on it and wave your arms up and down and make a snow angel in it” Aww. I can almost feel how soft it is! I bet you often lie down on your carpet, so I suggest keep it clean always. Vacuum it once or twice a week to prevent it from accumulating dirt.

Wow! Your bedroom looks so cozy! With that carpet on, I can lie down on the floor and sleep whenever I can! Carpets also make a good insulator which keeps the room warm on winter, Good choice!
