Well, really the first stop was to pick up Mom and Dad and pack up the car.

Were ready to go.

First stop after a few hours of driving was to tinkle and there were many of these along the way.

Our first sight seeing stop was in
Redding Calif. to the Turtle Bay Museum.

We did a lot of walking here, we walked across the Sundial Glass Bridge that resembled a ship.

Over looking the bridge was part of the Sacramento river.

In the museum we saw local river
dwellers such as this little guy the Coastal Giant Salamander. I found him so cute. You can click on the picture to enlarge him.

Dad enjoyed reading all about Mt. Shasta and the gold rush days also looking over the old maps of the area. Dad is a avid reader and enjoys hunting, fishing and camping, growing up we spent many vacations camping and sight seeing in Northern Calif. Dad also loves to spend time in museums he enjoys the history.

There was also a beautiful garden at the end of the glass bridge.

Just a few of the many
indigenous plant life from this area.

I thought of Becky from Sweet Cottage Dreams when I saw these beautiful butterflies just resting side by side. She had written a post about three butterflies not long ago. I knew we had to have a picture for Becky.

Next post~ Second Stop;
Klamath Falls and Crater Lake National Park in Oregon.
