~On the Move~

Hi! Everyone, it seems like for ever since I've posted... Gary and I have been busy packing up the house. We bought another home and will be renting out our sweet cottage. I do love this home, but with the housing market at a low we felt it a wonderful opportunity to purchase another cottage.
We will be closing escrow this week and will start the move on Thursday.
I have been reading your posts and have tried to leave as many comments as possible. So if I have not left you one, please know I am still here and I have been reading and trying to keep up with you all.
Packing takes for ever and I have so many things, honestly its a bit embarrassing!.
Gary and I have moved so many times in our life, and that's a bit embarrassing too. Really it is, all our family and friends who have know us our entire married life always say "so long are you going to live here!" we just laugh!
Gary and I have always loved to fix up homes, but we keep moving into them.  Since we are all family here, I will tell you what number this new home will make it will be  Cottage #12, yes its true we have owned 11 homes and this will be #12.....we are so crazy!!!.  but in a good way crazy!.
I may not be able to post for a few weeks but when I can, I will show you the new (Cottage #12).
I will miss you all and will be thinking of you and wondering what you are up too...
Big hugs and Love,
Elizabeth~on the move again~

~With Time~

With time, women gain weight because we accumulate so much
information and wisdom in our heads that
when there is no more room, it distributes out
to the rest of our bodies.
So we aren't heavy, we are enormously cultured, educated and happy.
Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think,
Good grief, look how smart I am!

Enjoy your weekend, it's the perfect time to celebrate being "You"
Big Hugs~Elizabeth~

~Ribs & Easter Eggs~

Yum, Yum yummy! My brother Mark's Ribs, it's his secret recipe! Mark is known as the "Rib Man" in the family and we all become Piggy-Poo's when he is a cook'n them there ribs. It takes many hands to turn them while they BBQ. Dad helps Mark~ And Gary helps Mark and Dad~ Gary pauses for a thought and a cool drink of beer~ There almost ready and Mark's a howlerin for a plate from the lady folk and very loud "Come and get em!"
Now for the Easter egg hut. The bunny was very creative this year, eggs every where! in the rocks,
On Grandpa and G.G's car,
Oh No! even on Gary's "56 Chevy" yes the bunny did it, nope it wasn't me!

Oh boy! the bunny did it this time, he even hid the eggs on Mark's custom dune-buggy!!! I don't know if Mr. Easter Bunny will have the nerve to show up at "Uncle Mark's" again next year to hide his eggs! He hid his eggs in all the No, No places. Silly, Silly bad Easter Bunny!.

Big hugs and love from me to you! ~Elizabeth~

~More Lovely Signs~

I am so in love with Paula's hand made cottage signs, I would have one of each if I could of her awesome designs!
Gary and I just celebrated our 34th anniversary on Feb. 21st and I wanted something special to commemorate the date so what better than a cottage couples sign for our bedroom!

You can click to enlarge any photo.
Do you remember this sign? this is the one that started my love for all Paula's signs. The "Guest Cottage" sign now is hanging inside the guest room.
And the new sign "Reserved for our Guests" is hanging on the door. It brings a big smile to my face every time I walk by the room.
Now of course for the kitchen who could pass up the "Bon Appetit" sign (not me!)
If you haven't all ready been to Paula's~Castle & Cottage~here you should really go for a visit. I have my eye on a few more signs for "Our New Cottage" Oh my I just spilled the beans, we are now in escrow for another home and I can't wait to move in and decorate. I will miss my sweet little cottage home we are living in now, but look forward to another cottage to nest in.
Until we meet again, keep creating and may the sunshine in your smile and in your heart.
Big hugs and warm smile for you~Elizabeth~

~100th POST at LAST!!!~

It's time to celebrate "Home is Where the Heart is" 100th Post!!!

I can't believe it's only taken me since June 2008 to finely get to this point. June is when I began creating "Home is Where the Heart is" but did not publish the first post until August 6, 2008. So if my math is correct it has "only" (I'm laughing here) has taken me 1 year, 6 months and 14 days to get to my first blog giveaway!. I think I am probably the only person in blog history to have taken so long to write 100 posts!.

I have tried to post as much as I can since Gary and I have a very long commute to work. Many of you know we commute 5.5 hours a day to work, I know you all think "we" crazy and yes you would be right, but we love where we live it's peaceful for us, and we sincerely hope to retire in 3 more years.

I can't began in put into words, since I'm not the best writer, how much you all mean to me. Many of us will never meet in person, but I feel as though I know you. I look forward to reading all about your families and seeing all the beautiful things you make by hand and how you decorate your homes. I think one of my most favorite things about blogging is the "Caring" for one another and being supportive in our sadness and in our joy. "Sharing" of decorating ideas, the creative sewing designs, cooking recipes and stitching patterns with each other (I really love that).

I have been blessed to meet Becky from "Sweet Cottage Dreams" and she is truly a sweetheart.

Many of you know my love for all home made, and I have purchased many of your creative and beautiful hand made treasures. I still have many more to buy. Since I love to do all kinds of needlework I wanted to give one of you a knitted gift in celebration of our 100th post. We are calling it the "Comforting Shawl" The pattern is from a prayer shawl book that they called the ribbon trimmed shawl.
I just love the pattern and it was a fun project to knit while I was laid up on the couch healing from foot surgery. By the way I am all better now just a few pains and some swelling as it just takes time for broken bones to heal. Here is our "Comforting Shawl"
To comfort you while in prayer.
Or all curled up on your favorite chair reading a decorating book.
Just leave a comment here that you would like to wear our "Comforting shawl" and Gary will do the honors and draw a name next Sunday March 28th and I will post the winner on Monday.. That's all you have to do.

Thank you to all who follow, it just amazes me how many sweet and kind hearted ladies there are.
You all have touched my heart and my life in so many ways!

Until next time, enjoy your weekend and keep creating!

Big, Big Hugs ~ Elizabeth~
