~Sewing with Becky and Marcia~

What a great time I had, it was "Sew" much fun spending the day sewing and chatting with Becky and Marcia, Becky shared her pattern and expertise with us on how to make a banner (Thank You Becky, xoxo). Marcia chose sweet shades of pinks for her banner you can read about Marcia's banner on her blog and I chose shades of blue and white. I love these ladies so much! I miss them already and I can't wait until we can get together again. We all live very close to each other and it was such a treat to be able to spend time with them. They are beautiful and full of sunshine...they just light up a room...

Becky suggested I make yoyo's (look Becky I made them!) at first I was just going to make a couple and I had so much fun with them I kinda got carried away LOL.

Come on in to our Guest Room and see where (we) my little mouse and I hung the banner.

Right above the window! Gary helped me to put it up. We re-used the plate curtain tie backs Gary had made for me, that we had in our other home.

We also re-purposed the head board that Gary had made, now they are hung as shutters..

I know the TV doesn't really go with our vintage/cottage style, but our sweet Grand-daughter really wanted a TV in the Guest Room. All us Grandma's know you just can't say "no" to their darling little faces.

The artist is Charles Peterson. We really love his work, I enjoy the story the picture is portraying of a happy era gone by.

A few more photo's of the banner.

I used my Grandma's and Gary's Grandma's broaches for the decoration in the middle of the white pillows. It makes me happy to see them, I can remember our Grandma's wearing the broaches on their over coats.
I came across this embroidered pillow with "Home is Where the Heart is" at Bed Bath and Beyond! I could not believe my eyes, I was giggling with delight, so I just had to buy it.... I think it was meant to come home with me.

~SeaShells~

This weekend was so so so  HOT! 106 and I must confess I'm the biggest wimp in the heat... Funny thing to since I live in the Central Vally of Ca. I wanted to stay inside as much as possible with the air conditioner on.   I have been wanting to make a sea-shell wreath for a long time, ever since I saw the one that Tina made at Enchanted Rose Studio you can visit her here, so off to Michaels Craft store I went to purchase supplies.
I used a 12' Styrofoam circle for this project.

And here it is completed. Gary was so funny he comes in from swimming and sunning himself (he loves the sun) unlike me, and says can I help you..... I just laughed with him (like I'm almost done now and could have used some help sooner).
There must be a "Million" sea shells in this wreath.. and I'm not kidding.... I said sure you can, all that was left was to hot glue the star fish on. I told him to pick any star fish we wanted and  glue it anywhere he wanted.
I think he did a wonderful job! Gary was so creative don't you think?. Thanks Bear for helping!

I really enjoyed making the wreath and I have enough sea shells to make another one! so I think I just might do that.
Until next time may all your creative dreams come true!
Big hugs and loves to you all...
