~Family Room Re-Do AGAIN~

This is what the family room looked like with the red curtains. Since this photo was taken I have added the cream curtains, changed the pillows, added the yellow wing back chair that was in our bedroom and changed the lamp shade from cream to the red and white toile. You can click to enlarge any photo if you like.
The floral pillows you see on the plaid couch were on the cream couch that is in the front room and since I just made the blue and white toile pillows for the cream couch, I thought the floral pillows would look like nice with the plaid they also match the ottoman. I have been wanting to change the curtains and wanted to tone down some of the red although I do love red and always will, but it was time for a change. I still have a lot of red accents through out this room and throughout the entire house.
I still need to have a stain glass window made for the window in the corner. I hope by Christmas so the room will be complete. The walls are the same light butter yellow as in the kitchen, but they didn't photograph well with all the light that filters into the room.
We do most of our living in this room since the T.V is here and we can see it from the kitchen.

I made the cream afghan a few years ago, we have afghan's in every room of our home.
You can see the new french blue wall that was just painted, it picks up the blue in the floral fabric.

I had to take most of the pictures with the curtains drawn unless I held the camera to the side as to avoid the glare. Some of the color might be off a bit because of all the light. I think I need to take a photography class. Really I do.

Enjoy your week and keep creating,
Elizabeth

Hi Elizabeth! I think this looks wonderful! So clean and fresh, and I love how the new floral pillows mimic the stained glass...which is gorgeous!! My breakfast nook and kitchen are that buttercream and I just love it! You did a beautiful job! Isn't it just so much fun to "play house"?? I've been puttering around with fall and having a good ol' time!

Blessings to you sweetie!
Have as joyful week!
Love,
Becky

Elizabeth, I used Simplicity 5154 and McCalls 5505 and combined them together to make my own. I just needed some kind of "measurements" to know how long and wide to make them, sugar. Now I have to make a small one for a 3 year old so she can bake with her grammy! I love doing these more than anything. Gives me a great creative outlet!

My son's dream job is gold pro, but he's actually a nurse! He went back to school to get a nursing degree this time so he could work nights and get off early and go golfing! He lives in Moreno Valley - southern Calif. We were in northern before we moved here.

Connie

Hi Elizabeth!... I do like your living room redo...really like the new curtains and we do have the same white round tables!!! I could kick myself...when I bought this one a couple years ago $65.00 at a furniture storage place there was also a larger one for $80.00 and I just wasn't thinking!!! I only bought the one...sigh. Yhey were such a deal, I should have taken them both. When I finally came to my sences and went back there...gone! Procrastinating...not a good thing! Your room looks so cozy and inviting it's no wonder you spend most of your time in there! Your couch is charming too...You take great pictures by the way... I have found that every photo looks better in the house when you don't use the flash. Turn on all the lights you possibly can...open drapes and then turn your flash off and click away! Hope your week is wonderful, xoxo~Kathy @ Sweet Up-North Mornings...

Hi--thanks for visiting my spindle cottage blog. I agree with you that it is fun to change up things and to mix things around. I like those pillows on your couch--a really pretty touch. I also like the yellow of the walls (and I agree it is hard to capture the right colors at times!!). I love red, yellow and blue too! I know what you mean, about changing curtains. My house needs a lot more light than it gets so I usually don't cover with much...but then it is a bit frustrating because it does need something! Sometimes I tuck the ends of the little curtains that I have at the tippy top of some of my windows up into the hardware to make them shorter so more light will come in....hmmmm, ah well.
