~This Baby is Mine~

How Sweet it is! I am so excited! I really am..
My Mom and Dad gifted Gary and I a brand new Kitchen Aid...I love her! I do and I can't wait to use her.
I think she is so pretty....
Do you remember using metal pie pans for baking...I use to use them all the time. Now I guess they are "vintage" LOL along with me...

So this weekend Gary and I are going to make "Basic White Bread" we are going to use the recipe out of the book that came along with the Kitchen Aid mixer...keep your fingers crossed for us, this will be our first time baking bread together..LOL
I think we might end up with flour on the ceiling..
If anyone has any tips on using the Kitchen Aid and baking bread please share...

I hope you all have a  wonderful and fun weekend!

Oh! You will love it. I just made oatmeal bread with mine yesterday. I add the second patch of flour by hand though to make sure I don't overwork mine.

Thank you for visiting and leaving a lovely note a few days ago.

Take care,
Carolyn

I have no tips for you as I don't own one, but I have thought about buying one many times. It seems that everybody I know who has them loves them. It sure is a beauty.
Have fun making your bread. I'll be anxious to know what you think.

This will be great, for making some comfort food for Gary. With this foggy weather we have been having lately. That oatmeal bread the Carolyn sounds wonderful. sandi

I am sooooo envious! I have always wanted one of thise beauties.....

MY tip for bread making - if you want a crusty bread, set a baking pan of ice cubes in the oven on the shelf beneath the baking bread for about 20 minutes...then remove.
Hugs,
Penny

I love my creamy yellow colored Kitchen Aid mixer. I've never made bread with it though so I can't give you any tips. Mine does cookies just great.

Congratulations on getting a Kitchen Aid, they are a marvelous invention. I love mine.
I have made bread in mine many times, I would just add, be sure to follow the directions very closely, especially on which speed to use.
Love and hugs, Cindy

You are absolutely love her Elizabeth! I make bread with mine almost every weekend. I use mine to mix the ingredients and partially knead the dough but I prefer to do most of the kneading by hand. I love playing in the dough! ;) After putting the liquid ingredients into the bowl, I only add about 1 - 1.5 cups of the flour and mix it thoroughly and then I add in the remaining flour usually about a 1/2 cup at a time with an interval of roughly 30 - 60 seconds between each addition.

I look forward to reading about your weekend bread baking experience! Good luck and have fun!

Oh! I forgot to add - be careful not to over knead your dough whether you knead it with the mixer or by hand.

I have a yellow Kitchen Aid - I love it! But alas, I haven't ever made bread in it. So I can't offer any tips. Good luck!

You two better let us know how that bread turns out. I love that little dollie under the machine. Just my style. Make sure you use 'good yeast' and take the temperature of the water. Too hot will kill the yeast. Have fun. Jan

Just found you via Sweet Cottage Dreams :-)

I was gifted a KitchenAid mixer about 20 years ago and it's still going strong and is as beautiful as ever. I love it.

A perfect gift! We have a blue one and use it all of the time. As far as baking bread, I leave that up to hubby. He has the knack for that!!

I love your red runner, Elizabeth!! Super cute and great job!

Happy baking!

Oh she's a beauty and of course you'll have to give her a name! As many have said before me, don't overwork the dough and finish it off by hand for a smooth finish! Enjoy and please post your first creation!

Your going to love your new baby! I was given mine from my mother-in-law, she couldn't use it anymore...mine is an old version from way back when and it works like it's brand new...I won't use anything else...I haven't made bread in mine yet, so I can't give you any tips on that....Have fun!
