~New Kitchen Chairs & a Question~

Wow! its already June and we are still having rain and wind this weekend...hows the weather in your neck of the woods?.
A few weeks ago I went shopping for new kitchen chairs and ended up at Pier One Imports. I love this store....well anyway I came across a chair that is called the Dana Chair its all white and padded and you can  dress the chair in any slip cover you want to create the look you desire ( I am always changing things so slip covers are perfect for me ) LOL.
I found these slip covers at Pier One Imports too they are made especially  for the the Dana Chair.
I could not resit the red and white toile and checked slip covers. .

Oh, and just look at the sweet checkered  ruffles. These slip covers were calling my name....
So now I have a question for you all, I am going to paint the table and the buffet table with the new chalk paint.
For the kitchen table should I keep the legs green and paint the top white or paint the entire table white. Also the buffet should I paint it all white or green on the bottom  and white on the top. You know the buffet the one  we just took the hutch top off and Gary hung the shelves above..that one...
The  kitchen counter back splash is going to be changed out. Gary and I have samples of tile.   I will show you the one we choose on my next post so please do not pay any attention to  the busy not so pretty back slash..

So a few weeks ago I won a wonderful giveaway from Mardon at Blushing Rose
You all know Marydon well she made these adorable table placemats, I lined my white napkin holder with them. They are so sweet and I think they added a fun and pretty touch to the kitchen table.
Thank you Marydon for making them and choosing my name..I love, love, love them especially since you made them..
I hope you all have a sweet week and that mother nature is on her best  behavior.

Today I'm joining in with Susan from Between Naps on the Porch
Also Cielo from House in Roses

I love, love your red slipcovers. What about painting the table legs white and the top a beautiful dark wood color? I'm sure whatever you do will be just stunning!

The red slipcovers are so cheery! I like the idea of two colors for the table. Really sweet placemats you won.

OMGosh, I love those slipcovers. Gorgeous! Hmmmm! I agree, how about painting the legs light color and the top dark? Just a thought. You will do a great job whatever you chose. Thanks for sharing, Hugs, Karie

Elizabeth, those chairs and slips are gorgeous!!! I am so happy for you! They are just the pop of color that you need in there. You won some beautiful place mats, so nice to win hand made things, eh?
I like the idea of white legs, too, maybe a dark top. Then do the same with the sideboard, perhaps? Not sure, I need to see the whole room better to really say.

from two weeks ago.. Do you just love those chairs. They are so nice. I have several of the colors and love that you can take them off to spot clean. I think the red and white check is one of the best covers they have had in awhile. your kitchen is a great place for them !!! Jules ♥

Those are too cute! I love the green with the red, but the white would really pop too - I think you can't lose either way!

Love your new slipcovers and the chair itself looks as if it would be very comfortable. As for paint colors, I'm useless so I won't muddy the water with a choice. Why chalk paint? Do you mean the kind that you can write on?

Your home always looks perfectly bright and cheerful to me, which is a really good thing if you are having so much rain. Hope the sun shines for you soon!

Hello, I saw your link at one of the parties... Oh, how I LOVE those chairs. I love red, that's what made me look at your blog! And I wouldn't change a thing: that table looks PERFECT with the chairs!! I can't see the buffet, but either white or green sounds nice. Anyway, I'm supposed to be on a blogging break, just taking a few mins to cruise around, but I had to tell you how much I love those chairs! ;)
Best,
Gloria

Elizabeth, I love your new chairs! I saw those slip covers at Pier 1 and thought they were wonderful. So great to actually see them in use...they are as awesome as I thought they would be! I'm probably no help on the paint decision. I am so intrigued by the new chalk paint. It looks so easy to use. I can't wait to see your table when it's done!

Too cute! I would probably paint the table white. I, too, am eager to try the new chalk paint.

Love your slipcovers. I like anything I can change when I tire of a look...especially if it won't cost me a bundle to change. Just looks great!

I am in love with your new slip covers! I am in the process of painting my table too. I am going with all creamy chippy white, but I may do something special to the top...still thinking about it. Looking forward to see what you decide.

Gmorn Elizabeth ~ What a fabulous set of slip covers for those chairs. Great idea & I DO love the colors/combos.

I am so tickled that the placemats blend in perfectly with the touch of red ... so happy you won them.

For the paint ... I'd go all white so not to 'box' yourself in with the green for future changes you make. A nice creamy chic white.

Have a beautiful day, Elizabeth. We are getting ready for the next near 100s heat wave tomorrow.

TTFN ~

Marydon

The chairs are beautiful! I think the idea of white legs/bottom and dark top is good. Some contrast going on. But all white would be my next choice. One thing I am sure of....it will be beautiful whatever you do! Have fun!

Anyone that can fall in love with these adorable slipcovers will come up with a KNOCK US OUT look for her table. I love it alll just the way it is..

Your slip covers are too cute! I'm not sure of your color scheme but it loooks like red, white and green. If it is,I would paint the table legs white and leave the top as is or a darker shade. Your sideboard I would paint either all white or leave the top the same as the top of the table with pretty green knobs.
I think it would look wonderful as long as you coordinate both peices.
I would also add trim to my curtains to tie it together.
I do love your room and you can do so many things....isn't it hard to decide?
I am looking forward to seeing the finished product! Good Luck!

I absolutely LOVE the chairs and slipcovers. I would leave the table legs as they are and paint the top a soft vanilla white, milk paint, kinda sheer. I would do the buffet table in matching shades, same way or reversed. I think the green is lovely, so maybe do the buffet table mainly in the same green with off white accents. More green than white is what I am trying to say. Either way it is so perky and fun and cheerful and beautiful! I am happy for you!!!

I love those slip covers...wonderful! I think you should leave the top wood...it's easier to keep up...we re finished our table and hutch and painted the chairs...it made all the difference.

Your new slipcovers are adorable. They look so pretty, cheery and comfy. I rather like the green table legs. I think a centerpiece that tied the red and green together would be nice. (maybe geraniums in summer and Christmas possibilities would be endless). I can also see a creamy white tabletop.
I know whatever you decide will be very nice.
Congratulations on your giveaway win. Very pretty gifts.

I saw these same slipcovers in a Pier One ad a while ago and bout flipped out 'cause they are so adorable and just the look and color I love, but haven't been able to find them in my store or online. I think you made a perfect choice and they look great in your kitchen! Can't wait to see what else you do!

Hi Elizabeth! your chairs and table are gorgous! I love the slip covers. I would go with an all white table and buffet just because I like to change things all the time, it would go with everything in the future if you should decide to change things again. I love your home! Thank you for leaving me such a sweet comment when I was gone, I'm so glad I'm back to visiting again :o) have a super week! hugs, Jennifer

I found your blog through someone else's someone else's...you know what I mean...it's fun to just travel with different bloggers and see where it leads you. Love, love, love the chairs...I have not been in a Pier 1 in a very long time, but I also do red and white so will have to go take a look...if even only for the end chairs. Thanks for sharing and I will visit often. Getting ready to pick up a can of chalk paint as well...they stock it in Tampa, a short drive from where I used to live. Hoping to have great success with it. denise

Love your new chairs and slipcovers ROCK! Aren't you glad our weather is getting close to normal? Although I'll be thrilled if we stay below 100 for a good long time!

Oh and I have to say I like Sandy's idea - white legs and dark top.

Those chairs are adorable. I can certainly see why you bought them.
As far as the table goes...I am no judge at all so won't give an opinion on that. Your table will be perfect no matter your choice. No doubt about it!

Love the red!!! So pretty!

OMGosh, I'm totally drooling over your slipcovers! My kitchen is done in red and white with black appliances (except my fridge) and I want these BAD! I will be heading to Pier One soon. As for the painting...I'm probably odd man out here, but I would do it all white and distress it. But then, that's the look that I love. It's a bit hard without seeing the whole room, but I'm sure whatever you decide will be perfect! Make yourself happy. :)
I'm so glad I came across your blog. Stop by and visit mine sometime if you have a minute! I'll be back a lot....I have to see what you finally decide! LOL

I got your note asking for the color of my cabinets. They came that way when we ordered them. But I had other things to match out. I painted a mirror I got from Homegoods to match. I'll look for the can of paint this weekend and get you the color code. There is a brown glaze over the paint too. It's very thinly applied. let me see if I can find this for you !! Jules (ps.. love your chairs .. )

I love those slipcovers. I should visit Pier 1 more often.I would probably paint the table all white, but I'm sure what you decide will be perfect. Anxious to hear how you like the chalk paint.
Where did you find it. I have a table to paint for our little trailer.
