This Monday we want to share with you our dinning room.Below are the before pictures, you will see that we removed two of the can-lights the ones in front and had a new electrical junction box installed in the ceiling so we could hang a chandelier.
Custom trim was added around the windows and doorway that leads to the kitchen, also the rug was removed and new flooring was installed.
In our last post I shared with you my love for brick and that we had used it in several rooms in our home. Another place besides the kitchen was in the dinning room. We had a brick mason install a brick wall as our focal wall.. the brick we used was 1/2 brick paver's.
In this picture the cement was still wet so the brick looked darker. I couldn't believe how many choices there are for brick, it was crazy with choices.
And Wall-La its done! We decided not to use the shutters that were in the dinning room after the windows were trimmed out the shutters no longer fit. I love roman shades so decided to have fabric shades made.
The door to the left leads to the kitchen. I was able to use my mirror and buffet table I had bought for our previous home. We purchased a new dinning table and chandelier.
The roman shades are made of a floral linen toile. The grandfather clock fit well in this little corner.
Here's the door way into the kitchen. The brick wall in the kitchen flows into the brick wall into the dinning room. Oil painting (Private Reserve) by Stiltz
A view of the dinning room from the kitchen.
Buffet table and dinning table. They are from different designers, but work well together.
The Yellow Cottage Picture is by Dwane Hickman (yep\Dobie Gillis)
The dinning room table was handcrafted by Simply Amish from the Aspen Trestle collection made in the USA.. I love the Arts & Crafts feel of the table and chairs. The chairs are so easy and comfortable to sit in.
A closer look at the roman shades.
The chandelier we choose was designed by Schonbek and is from the Madison Collection with handcut crystal made in the USA. I really love the mix of metal and crystal, its like wearing blue jeans with your diamond earrings. It gives our dinning room a touch of bling the ( diamond earrings) and the brick wall (blue jeans). I am a jean girl who always has her diamond earrings on...Yep that's me! bluejeans and diamonds. So why not have my dinning room comfortable and blingy LOL
From our living room the dinning room is visible in our open floor plan.
A little peek of the living room, next week I will show you all of the living room.
Since our last post of the kitchen we found these cute little bar stools. They tuck ever so nicely under the counter. Bar stools are from Pier One.
During all my picture taking Shiloh hardly budged from his bed, he was a tired baby after his bath. Shiloh brought his chewy to bed with him, how cute is he ( we are such proud puppy parents) love him!
Nite, Nite baby...
Aw such a sweet face, Shiloh was plum tuckered out!
Have a safe and happy week everyone.

Good Morning Elizabeth and Gary, My word, what a transformation, your dining room is beautiful. I love the Arts and Crafts dining table and chairs and the chandelier is beautiful.
Thank you for sharing your dining room.
Best Wishes to you.
Daphne
Just fabulous, sugar! I wish I had the energy you do. Turned out marvelously though.

Another beauty!! I am a blue jeans/earrings gal too!!
Your dining room is beautiful! I love the toile roman shades.
The brick wall is stunning! I cannot imagine the hours spent to put those bricks perfectly straight horizontally and vertically. But worth every moment for the fabulous look of your dining room!
I noticed the chandelier in the last post- it's beautiful! Your new dining furnitue is wonderful- I love to see people buy things made in the US. The whole room has such a nice vibe. I like the brick veneer- what a great look. Adding the big mirror is perfect- I always feel they mimick having another window and can reflect light so that's always a good thing! I love the roman shades- great fabric choice- looks great with the brick.
Hi Elizabeth.. I love what you are doing to your new home. The dining room looks so beautiful with the brick wall as does your kitchen. Not sure if I left a comment on that but I have to say you've done a wonderful job with that too.I would never have thought to put brick behind kitchen cabinets but I love it! Can't wait to see your lounge room. You must be so happy! take care, Maryann ps glad you still like your throw!
Oh, it's so fun seeing your new home and all the new renovations and the "stuff" you chose to decorate with. So lovely! You have great taste. Love the dining room and kitchen. Those toile shades go really well with the brick. Looking forward to the rest.
I really love all the brick and your sweet puppy!
I think the brick is a stroke of genius!!!! I love the Roman shades as well. In fact, that's what I have decided to use for our bedroom. Can't wait to see the rest of the house.
Dearest Elizabeth and Gary,
You both did a remarkable job! Such a convenient home in return after all the hard work but great planning! Just showed my husband and told how you'd first sold your other home and lived in a little space during this renovation.
You know what you put together as the red Toile de Jouy looks so perfect with your brick wall. Also the red carpet near the dog bed. It does bring it all to life.
Enjoy your new kitchen and dining and I guess you both were as plum tuckered out as your cute Shiloh. Now ENJOY your new nest!
Sending you hugs,
Mariette
Simply stunning, I live in a row house from the 1800ths and it has a brick wall original to the house, yours is just gorgeous and that chandelier is to die for, congrats it's just beautiful

WOW
That is an amazing transformation!
I too have a thing for brick inside. I love it how warm it makes your home .
You just gave me an Idea for my entry .
I wonder was it expensive?

Your dining room is amazing. You were right about the brick walls - it gives a loft effect. The roman shades are really pretty too. Love that fabric.
Your house looks perfect now! You did a magnificent job dragging the brick to the lovely dining room Wall as well and with the roman shade in the small window. I love it all!
Have a lovely Mother's Day ahead.
FABBY
Love a beautiful chandy atop a dining table!

Impressive work! The brick turned out perfectly. But what I particularly like in this one are the fabric shades. They compliment the brick wall really well. And it really shows how far you guys will go to make your home look fantastic. I bet the guests love that room too.
