~Moving "things" Around & A New Table Runner~

There are so many colors that make me happy, but I must admit Red does it for me every time..I just adore the color Red, but you all know that about me..so during Christmas while shopping for fabric I run across this pre-made runner that can be purchased by the yard, all you have to do is finish off the seams. So I added the cute white frayed ruffle. I am really loving the ruffle look! A very quick and fun project any one can sew up.

The runner is on our dinning room table.

So now that all the Christmas decorations are put away, I thought it would be fun to change around some the furniture. Gary and I brought out the red double sized recliner from the Master Bedroom  and brought it into the living room. Moved Gary's leather recliner to sit along side the red recliner and moved the plaid couch across from the white couch.
The buffet that was behind the plaid couch in now in the garage. Not for sure what I want to do with it. As much as I like it and all, it really wasn't what I had wanted. I am thinking of painting it and using it as a dresser or I might sale it.. So if any of you girls live in my area and might be interested in it, please let me know and we'll talk.

I have really been enjoying the red recliner! Gary and I  were laughing about the mama and the papa chairs side by side. This weekend the grands were over and they sat with me in the red recliner, yep two grads and the Grandma all in one chair, it was so fun to cuddle with them...

I love to mix and match my furniture and move it all around. It always give the room a fresh look.
Have a lovely week, I'll be thinking of you all..

Hello dear Elizabeth,
I love all of your furniture, it is so pretty. The red and white is so bright and happy feeling. I see a gorgeous light fixture not really over anything, what is it meant to be? The one with the shade and the crystals, I have been wanting to make something like that out of an old one, I have seen how it is done and it is so attractive. Yours is really lovely, though.
So glad you posted, I am always so glad to see what you are up to in your sweet little house.
Hugs, Cindy

I love your red runner, Elizabeth. Adding the white ruffle was the perfect touch. Red is the best decorator color. It looks good at Christmas, Valentines and is Patriotic. It's also great with fall colors. There you go...you are set for the rest of the year. Your new furniture arrangement is so cozy and yes the double rocker is perfect for reading stories to the grands. I had one that made it from nursing my first baby to cuddling with all 10 grandkids.

Your home looks so warm and inviting! I know what you mean about switching it up. Now that I downsized, I have a harder time rearranging because of the lack of space. My grandson spent the night with me Friday and I loved sitting in the rocking chair cuddling with him.

Have a fabulous week!

It fits in perfectly there in your cozy home. I've been seeing these about and may have to hop on the bandwagon just as soon as I actually finish painting the dining room table. Thanks for your visit and for leaving such a sweet comment.

Hi dear Elizabeth,

Thanks so much for the sweet (and much appreciated) words about our kitchen re-do. I loved showing the before (worst of the 80s and the after-back to the best of the 30s) photos. It was a labor of love and a learning experience for us both. Also an exercise in patience.

RED, yes, red makes me happy and for 25 years everything I had was red/white/green. When Country Living did the photo shoot of our Cambria house for 1990 story I had red and white Waverly and lots of antique baskets with red and green. When Country Kitchens and Country Living did the house again I had reupholstered the couch and wing chair in red and white ticking, but the big wing chair was done in red linen again. The upholsterer picked it up and said, "out with the red, in with the red."

Now I have butter yellow and aqua green, but in the studio the red wing chair reigns and red still lights my heart.

Love this posting.

Very nice! Lots of open space to work with gives you so many options which I find fun, too!

We have had red for about 25 years and are in the process of a red purge. I still love it, but with the orange tones in the house, it is time for a change.

Ruffles are so pretty. Looks great. I hope to add something ruffled in the master bedroom.

Thank you for your kind words. SO SO SO much!

I love your living room. It looks so warm and cosy. Just the place to curl up with a book on a cold winter's night.

I really like read as well. It's my favourite accent colour at the moment. I love the way it brings gentler colour to life.

What a great blog you have! I love all your ideas. I'm really looking forward to following along.
