~Sewing with Becky and Marcia~

What a great time I had, it was "Sew" much fun spending the day sewing and chatting with Becky and Marcia, Becky shared her pattern and expertise with us on how to make a banner (Thank You Becky, xoxo). Marcia chose sweet shades of pinks for her banner you can read about Marcia's banner on her blog and I chose shades of blue and white. I love these ladies so much! I miss them already and I can't wait until we can get together again. We all live very close to each other and it was such a treat to be able to spend time with them. They are beautiful and full of sunshine...they just light up a room...

Becky suggested I make yoyo's (look Becky I made them!) at first I was just going to make a couple and I had so much fun with them I kinda got carried away LOL.

Come on in to our Guest Room and see where (we) my little mouse and I hung the banner.

Right above the window! Gary helped me to put it up. We re-used the plate curtain tie backs Gary had made for me, that we had in our other home.

We also re-purposed the head board that Gary had made, now they are hung as shutters..

I know the TV doesn't really go with our vintage/cottage style, but our sweet Grand-daughter really wanted a TV in the Guest Room. All us Grandma's know you just can't say "no" to their darling little faces.

The artist is Charles Peterson. We really love his work, I enjoy the story the picture is portraying of a happy era gone by.

A few more photo's of the banner.

I used my Grandma's and Gary's Grandma's broaches for the decoration in the middle of the white pillows. It makes me happy to see them, I can remember our Grandma's wearing the broaches on their over coats.
I came across this embroidered pillow with "Home is Where the Heart is" at Bed Bath and Beyond! I could not believe my eyes, I was giggling with delight, so I just had to buy it.... I think it was meant to come home with me.

Look at the sweet banner you made! It looks wonderful in your new guest room. (I bet your granddaughter loves to visit there.)The yo-yos work really well, and I love the sweet plate tie-backs. How clever!

I would love to spend another day with Becky! The sweetest person ever. I have one of her cheerful banners hanging in my studio, and it reminds me of her every day.

I love all the soft blues and crisp whites in your guest room! The banner you made is delightful. I have been wanting to make one after seeing several on the blogs. Little treasures like the vintage pins give the room special touches. I'm sure it is the perfect room for your granddaughter when she visits!!

You know, I think my MIL used to have a picture in her bathroom that said, home is where the heart is! I guess it is just one of those saying that get around.

Grandkids are fun!

Love your blog and I am looking forward to meeting you in person. Today when I was at a vintage sale for the American Cancer Society I bought a couple of pillow cases similar to the ones you have. The Grandmother's items make them very special and I have some that I can use. Great idea.
