Happy Monday to you all.
Thank you all for the wonderful comments on Gary and I new retro appliances we really are enjoying them.
Did you all have a heat wave like we did over the weekend?. We had over 100 degree weather and our air conditioner pooped out! I'm melting......
Anyway I wanted to share with you a fun and easy quilt I made for my niece Amber, she is having a boy next month. I love bright colors for babies and the pinwheel block seems to be so colorful and happy for a little one. I also like to use primary colors. Amber's theme for her nursery is owls as you will see.
Look close and you will see owls quilted on the blanket.
A closer look.
The back of the quilt all happy little owls with their big eyes just staring at ya...
I used orange fabric for the binding.
I always make a softy blanket its crib size and easy to take along for baby to sleep on or play on for the babies.
I love the turquoise blue fabric both sides are wonderfully soft and so cozy for babies to cuddle up with, Mommy too.
I saw a pattern for crochet diaper covers and I thought how fun are these! so I whipped up a few for our new nephew. I made a few different sizes so Amber can check out the sizes as he grows..
Another quick crochet project is this little lavender pillow I made for my grand-daughter, I enjoy crocheting while I'm watching TV. I found this pattern and the pillow below
in the Goose Berry Patch Farmhouse Crochet book.
This afghan I made for a dear friend in the theme colors of our local football team the Oakland Raiders...So these are a few of the projects I have completed lately. So tell me what have you been making to keep your little hands busy?

You have been so busy. Everything looks so pretty. How did you make the owls on the quilt? They are just so cute.
What a gorgeous quilt!! I love the colors, too. Crocheting is something I love to work on when I'm watching TV too!
Jan ♥
I forgot to say it was ingenious of you to stitch the owls in the quilting of the baby's quilt. Clever!
Jan ♥
Your projects are all so beautiful! Such a colorful baby blanket, with the quilted owl on top, fantastic. And your kitchen is gorgeous!
I just read your post on the sudden passing of your sister and shed a few tears myself. So very tragic and sad! It sounds like she was a very determined and successful lady! I'm so sorry for your family's loss.
Best wishes and blessings, Tammy
I do love the owl quilting on the little pinwheel quilt. Just lovely. thanks for sharing.
You are staying very busy! The quilt is absolutely adorable. You are so good with the careful selection of fabrics.
The crocheted pieces are all wonderful, too. Now someone's on the list for the next thing to come along, I'm sure!
Hi Elizabeth,
You do make the most delightful quilts! The owl quilt is gorgeous and the new mom will enjoy it so much, I'm sure.
Your crocheted items are fabulous. You are amazing!!!
I haven't been doing much with my hands lately, to keep them busy. I'm taking care of two five year olds at the moment, they go back to their foster family tomorrow. They have kept me busy with keeping them fed.
Have a gorgeous day!
Hugs, cindy
Dearest Elizabeth,
You have been very active in creating blankets and other goodies. The crocheted diaper covers look cute, hope they prove to be practical too for laundering with ease.
Love to you,
Mariette
Oh for goodness sake....those owls making up the quilting is just too cute. You do a fantastic job with the quilting...that is something I have not tried and I don't think I will be. I just love quilts so it is a shame because they are expensive. But with all the work you put in them, I can see why! If I had made that, I would charge about ONE MILLION dollars!!
Love the baby quilts - so happy and cheerful! I'm a fellow hooker and enjoy hooking while watching tv too... I've made a bunch of pillows and my DiL's love them!
thanks for sharing,
gena
Hi Elizabeth and Gary :O) I must say, I LOVE your appliances, that color yellow is beautiful and your kitchen is to die for! Now, you have been one busy crocheter Elizabeth, I love the pillows and all the littl blankets and the diaper covers are to cute for words..lol! I have been cross stitching a picture of roses when I have had time but I haven't gotten enough done to even show it on a post :o( BUT with any luck, I will be able to do more over this very hot weather week since I won't be venturing out doors too much. Have a wonderful week and I do hope they come fix your air conditioning really soon! Hugs Jennifer
Elizabeth your so talented. I loved the owl quilt, the red and white crochet pillow and of course those diaper covers are just adorable.
Wow--you have been a busy lady!
The quilt is adorable and I love the pillows!
Stop by my post from Sunday--I am celebrating.
Melinda
Wow! Elizabeth, you've been so busy! I love that darling little quilt! The fabric is so cute - love those little smiling faces. The owl fabric is sweet too. How clever quilting the background with owls! The little diapers cover are darling - I've never seen anything like these. Your pillows - wonderful. I love to crochet too but haven't done anything this summer! :)
Thanks for popping in to see me.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Elizabeth, YOU are wonderful. However, it sort of reminds me of my math teacher. On the board he would scribble a problem..and say "now this is a simple equation. Anyone can do this.." Anyone but ME! :) Those soakers are adorable..but the quilt with the owl quilting is..sooo cute. We have a little grandson due July 4th..but I think I already told you that. The store is my best bet I think~! I wouldn't want it to turn out like my math class! A big fat F!! :):)
Love and hugs!
Mona
Oh my, your little hands have been very busy. I love the quilt. I have been wanting to do a pinwheel quilt. Yours is so colorful and happy. Owls are so cute.
All that crochet too...I have never seen crocheted diaper covers. How clever and cute. Your granddaughter will love snuggling with her sweet pillow.
Yes, it was 108 in Bakersfield on Sunday, but hearing your air went out is terrifying in that heat. Hope you have it fixed by now.
Stay cool.
You never cease to amaze me with your skills! You are right, that owl fabric IS similar to the stuff I used on that bag! Too cute. And that red and white pillow...my granny made one for me once in blue and white.
Thinking of you and prayers for your heart to be at peace.
xxo

Wow, Elizabeth! You do great work whether it's with paint or thread/yarn. Love the diaper covers you made for your new nephew. And the quilt is precious and I know it will be appreciated! Thanks for sharing! Helen
Your work is so pretty, Elizabeth. I am another Elizabeth who loves to quilt and crochet. I don't finish as many as you do, but I am looking forward to completing more when I am off work for the summer, in one week.
My goodness dear friend, you have been one busy bee. Love the cute owl quilt and those crochet diaper covers...too cute. It's been getting warmer here too. Sure does feel like summer now. Stay cool my friend, I know it's hard without an air conditioner, but at least you have a pool :-) Wishing you and Gary a wonderful weekend. How are you doing?
Much love,
Ana

That is such a sweet quilt. Richard from My Old Historic House.
I love the bright little quilt! I do believe babies are attracted to these primary colors. Your crochet projects are beautiful!
Hi Elizabeth! Thanks for popping in to see me. I wanted to tell you, we had dinner with some friends the other night who lived in Hawaii for 30 years. They had bought a new home here and I was taking a tour. On her bed was a great big Hawaiian quilt and it was so beautiful! :)
Be a sweetie,
Sheila ;)
So love LOVE that first quilt, Elizabeth ... but all your creations are wonderful. Busy bee, you are. Happy baby, too.
