~A Day of Rest~
Moving can be very dangerous! I had Hurt fingers, Sore arms Sore back and bags under my eyes for days! All I needed and wanted was one day of rest. I knew a day would come and so it did! It was to be a "Aloha Party".
Yes this is really me, Resting. My family said I can't believe you are sitting down. Well I kinda had too after three Mai-Tai's in a plastic cup! Do I look smashed?. LOL
I hope you enjoy your day of Rest and do whatever makes you the happiest.
Big hugs for you all, Elizabeth

~On the Couch~
I had "Bunion Surgery" on the 24th. Gary took this picture on Thanksgiving day, its a bit blurry but that's just how I feel. I had an allergic reaction to the first pain med's the Doctor prescribe for me, my face and cheeks turned bright red and puffy, I also itched all over. I am learning how to use the crutches, its harder than I thought it would be. I will be right here on the couch for several weeks, with my foot up watching HGTV.
I am writing this post with my laptop on my lap and my foot up its a bit hard to do this. I missed not reading all your posts the last few days.
I hope everyone had a blessed Thanksgiving. My daughter asked our little grandson "Ty" who is 4 1/2 years old, what he was thankful for and he said, " Apples!" Out of the mouths of babes. I think apples are a good thing to be thankful for too.
My girls, sister and mom have been here to help me. Gary and all the girls in the family cooked Thanksgiving dinner for us. It was quite fun to see them all scurrying around my tiny kitchen.
Big hugs to you all and thank you again for thinking of me.

~Why-Home is Where The Heart is~
When Gary and I first thought about starting a blog I wondered what would I write about and what would we call it. After playing with a few different names we decided on
"Home is Where The Heart is".
Why; well as you know Gary is a singer and has sung his entire life, his voice has touched the hearts of others and has given strength to those who were in need of comfort.
He has always been an Elvis fan and has sung many a Elvis tune. When the movie Kid Galahad came out and Elvis sang Home is Where The Heart is, Gary fell in love with the song and sang it every chance he had.
So when our first baby (Desire') was born in 1977 the first song he sang to her was of course Home is Where The Heart is and then sang it our second baby (Bernadette).
Although our girls are all grown up now he still will sing them our family song when ever they ask.
Here are the lyrics, the words are so tender and true.
Home is where the heart is
And my heart is anywhere you are
Anywhere you are is home
I don't need a mansion on a hill
That overlooks the sea
Anywhere you're with me is home
Maybe I'm a rolling stone
Who won't amount to much
But everything I hold dear
Is close enough to touch
For Home is where the heart is
And my heart is anywhere you are
Anywhere your are is home
Home home home home home

~ Thirty Three Years ~
Gary and I just celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary on February 21st. We had big plans we were going to spend the day and night in San Francisco, well it didn't happen we both were sick with terrible colds and Gary even had bronchitis.
So our anniversary was spent with me and a Kleenex box on the couch and Gary with his Kleenex box in his chair!. Cough, Cough, Sneeze, Sneeze, blow the nose. Not fun!.
We both are still very stuffy and not feeling 100% yet. Since next Saturday March 7th is my birthday hopefully we both will feel better and will try again for our day in the city.
Gary and I put together a little sideshow of our 33 years together. It's so funny to see how we have changed. One thing has not changed and that is we are still in Love and are always so happy to see other after work. I must say I feel so unbelievably blessed to have had 33 years of marriage to the one that makes me so happy!
How we met. It was Thanksgiving Day 1975 Gary's parents and mine lived next door to each other, I was still living at home and was 19 years old. Gary was living in Sacramento and was 27 he came to visit his parents for Thanksgiving day dinner.
Previously Gary's Dad and my Mom had said we should introduce our kids sometime, unannounced to me. So since Gary was home for Thanksgiving his Dad said lets go over and meet the girl next door, I think you will really like her.
I had to work that day and so I was not home when Gary and his Dad had came over for us to meet. Since I was not home at the time Gary came over I had to go next door to meet him. I did not want to do this at all!. What if he's ugly I thought!
Well my dear sister had met him before me and she said he was cute and I should definitely meet him. So I took myself next door to meet Gary and to my surprise when he came into the room he took my heart and has had it ever since (He was not Ugly). So hear is the run down, we met on Thanksgiving Day Nov. 27, 1975 Engaged on Dec. 25, 1975 and Married Feb. 21, 1976.
WE believe in Love at first Sight it surely happened to us. Do you?

~ Six Random Things ~
My friend Anne from Momma's Place passed on to all who read her blog to list six random things about yourself, so here they are.
1. I commute 5.5 hours a day to and from work.
2. Every night while eating dinner Gary and I watch "All my Children". I have been watching since the show began.
3. Every night when I crawl into bed I say " I love my pillow ". It's the best pillow ever and after my very long days I can't wait to hug my pillow good night!.
4. I love Kaula Coffee with whip cream.
5. I could eat Mexican food everyday. I call it my Soul Food!
6. I had my hair cut short, just wanted to try a new style but I didn't like it, I just couldn't get use to it be being so short. So now I' am letting it grow out again and we all know it seems like forever when we are letting our hair grow!.
Now I will pass this on to all that read my blog, like Anne did. Hope you want to play along and let me know that you have so I can read six random things about you!.
Have a wonderful Day,
Elizabeth

Thank You
Thank you all so much for taking time out of your busy day to write to us and for all the kind words you all have left either by email or blog. Blogging is so challenging for me, since there are no instructions just trial and error and I must confess it has been mostly my error, Gary is always there to help me out since two heads are better then one. I do believe we are getting the hang of it.
